I believe that outside of the Reiki treatment itself, the client experience as a whole is vitally important. The environment and the setting can set the tone for the treatment and the client needs to feel comfortable in all facets. I remember the first time I myself went for a treatment and how I had so many questions in my mind as to how I would feel never having met the practitioner and having my first treatment. I want very much for my client to feel at ease the minute they walk into my home, as I work out of my home, and feel a sense of calm and peace. Each client comes for treatment with a unique set of needs and given this the entire experience needs to be one that requires little thinking on the part of the individual. The client may be meeting me for the first time and this may also be their first Reiki experience, and therefore the treatment area needs to be one that is pleasant and comfortable and he/she needs to feel safe. As a practitioner I need to be very sensitive to all of these factors and make the experience one that will allow them to be fully present without distractions. In other words they simply need to be able to 'be' and take in the energy of the universe that will be shared with them. This will allow for an optimal experience for the client and afford them increased wellness as a result.
I strive to create a client experience that is pleasant, comfortable and healing. The clients needs are always the priority and increased healing will come as a result. An 'openness to receive' will result more so from an experience that is positive.
As my treatment area progresses and comes nearer to completion I will share photos of the space giving you an idea of what you can expect when you come for a treatment.
Blessings,
Maggie
